“Human” is the first brand track we crafted for ConocoPhillips, highlighting the understated confidence inherent in their audio logo. It is derived from the DNA of ConocoPhillips’ audiologo, incorporating both melodic and harmonic elements in a mostly acoustic instrumentation for the human feel. While rooted in acoustic instrumentation, “Human” still strives to showcase ConocoPhillips’ contemporary essence while preserving trustworthy and authentic experience.

Tech

“Tech” is the second brand track for ConocoPhillips, emphasizing the brand’s technological facets. This composition again draws from the ConocoPhillips’ audio logo but employs a more synthetic and electronic instrumentation approach this time. Despite this, it maintains a blend of welcoming, human elements to remain rooted in the brand’s essence. While the original audio logo leans towards an acoustic sound, the brand track aims to spotlight ConocoPhillips’ contemporary dimensions by integrating electronic bass kicks and rich snare hits, all the while preserving an acoustic essence reminiscent of the logo.

Epic

“Epic” is a brand track we crafted for ConocoPhillips, designed to evoke inspiration, energy, and empowerment. This composition harnesses the essence of ConocoPhillips’ audio logo DNA, employing a grand symphonic instrumentation approach. Notably, it features a choir to emphasize a sense of familial warmth above all other elements.

TechNight

Tech Night shows a future-focused and ambitious sound highlighting ConocoPhillip’s focus on innovation. The track is energetic in feel with a modern electronic sound whilst clearly and playfully incorporating the ConocoPhillips sonic DNA.
The faster tempo creates an up-lifting feeling, reflecting the company’s forward-thinking mentality. Creative use of panning creates a surprising feel, small elements are discovered throughout the track, creating a modern and intriguing experience for the listener.

Light Energetic

Light Energetic is one of our most versatile tracks, it combines electronic and acoustic elements and weaves together jazz-influences with up-lifting vocals and a steady beat to reflect both ConocoPhillips versatility as well as their grounded approach.
This track shows a more playful side to ConocoPhillips, it represents our work with community outreach. Leveraging human-sounding instrumentation such as claps and voice along with harmony that takes inspiration from gospel elements. This instills the sense of community with the ConocoPhillips melody being at the heart of the track.

Emotional Autumn

Emotional Autumn was created to fit the company’s style of filmmaking, with a personable and uplifting feel. A blend of electronic and acoustic instrumentation were seamlessly fused together with the ConocoPhillips melody to create a warm and progressive feel which could be used for their video content. The track gently incorporates the audio logo while combining it with soft pads and strings, and a steady percussion moving in the background. The soft ambient and electronic elements continue the theme of forward-thinking which is defining for ConocoPhillips, while simultaneously bringing the listener home through a warm and familiar chord progression.

Epic Progress

This track was created to highlight the big steps forward, the traditional-sounding string elements beginning slowly and taking the listener on a journey through hard-work and commitment. The steady drums and steady chord progression brings to mind the company’s focus on responsibility and innovation. Epic Progress was created to create a sense of adventure, movement and progress. It’s a track that says “full steam ahead, business” with a straightforward and upbeat rhythm, drawing on Epic and building even further.

Conclusion

The branded tracks are all anchored in ConocoPhillips core values, and fit into the larger picture of the company’s identity. They show versatility and cohesiveness is possible as long as some key attributes are established. All of the tracks have been carefully composed by a skillful team that are familiar with the brand and have been part of crafting its sonic profile. Everything from instrumentation to arrangement serves a purpose, and communicates ConocoPhillips narrative effectively to the audience.

We were very lucky to find Sonic Minds. They just had a very almost scientific process. Having music that we actually own is really powerful. It was another dream of a lifetime to work with a company like this. We truly had an enjoyable time working with them. I’ve never seen a brand visual system be this embraced by a company.
