Satair
The challenge
Our challenge was creating a sonic identity that clearly defined the sound of SATAIR and that could be used across their many internal and external touchpoints with ease and effectiveness.
To accommodate this challenge we created a sonic identity that evoked the aviation industry, while simultaneously communicating the values of the company. We wanted to balance the intensity of the engine propulsion with the seamlessness and reliability of SATAIR’s maintenance work.
The solution
Audio logo
First we decide to establish the core of SATAIRs audio identity, the audio logo.
For the audio logo, we combined the idea of a plane taking off with the musical expression of a job well done.
In the first seconds of the audio logo you can hear what sounds like the engine of a plane taking off. Then a sharp rhythmic transition brings you to the core picachato melody which has a strong sense of resolve. Finally, a quick wind inspired swoosh sfx closes the audio logo.
The audio logo was developed across several versions, including shorter and longer edits as well as stripped-back variants featuring drums only and bass, ensuring flexibility across a wide range of use cases.
Brand Tracks
Secondly, we agreed to create 3 foundational brand tracks each focused on a different part of SATAIRs identity. The objective was to align emotional resonance with specific functional needs, in order to make communication clear and emotionally consistent.
Elevating People
We designed the first track specifically for the company’s human-centric touchpoints. To honor SATAIR’s pride in its high-quality relationships, we focused on reflecting that value in the sound. This track is light, rhythmic and dynamic.
Mach Motion
“Mach Motion” is a brand track made for Satair, highlighting the more technological and innovative aspects of the brand. The track is made from the Satair audio logo DNA, but with harmonic development and a strong rhythm to emphasise the ‘technology’ aspect of the track. It still has warm, human elements so as not to stray too far away from the core of the brand.
Thrusted Forward
“Thrusted Forward” is a brand track made for Satair, acting as a more inspirational track, with emphasis on energy and empowerment. The track is made from the Satair audio logo DNA, but with a grand and symphonic approach in terms of instrumentation. It uses the horns, voices and strong percussion to emphasise all aspects of the Satair brand. It has different sections, all allowing themselves to be used in different settings and when different kinds of emotions/moods are needed.
SFX
To further cement SATAIR’s sonic identity, we designed three custom sound effects intended to work in harmony with their visual animations across video assets. These SFX cover the key interactive moments in their content – from information overlays and lower third introductions to seamless shot transitions – each crafted with both ‘in’ and ‘out’ variations where needed to ensure a polished, cohesive audio-visual experience throughout.
Words from client
“Developing our new sound identity with Sonic Minds was a seamless and deeply collaborative experience. They have a remarkable ability to listen to our brand’s vision and translate it into a distinct audio language. The team guided us through an unfamiliar field with immense expertise, making the entire journey educational, fun and inspiring. We’ve ended up with a powerful, cohesive sound identity that perfectly aligns with our values, and the feedback across our organization has been incredibly positive.” – Kenneth Palm, Senior Digital Marketing Manager, Satair
